The Islamic Legal Studies Program of the UP Law Center, supported by the Philippine Center for Islam and Democracy (PCID) organized a discussion on Alternative Care System for Orphaned Abandoned and Neglected Children.
 
Our featured guest and main discussant is Dr. Azizah Y. al-Hibri, the first Muslim woman law professor in the United States and the founder of KARAMAH:  Muslim Women Lawyers for Human Rights.  Her insightful researches and analyses have been published in the University of Pennsylvania Journal of Constitutional Law, the Harvard International Review, and Fordham International Law Journal, to name a few.  Dr. al-Hibri is currently a Professor Emerita at the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond, Virginia.
 
The forum was held at the 2nd Floor Lecture Room, Bocobo Hall, University of the Philippines Law Center, Diliman, Quezon City on Thursday, 10 October 2019 from 9:00AM to 12:00NN.  Dr. al-Hibri will share her perspectives on options for the care and protection of vulnerable children in Muslim communities.
